God’s Plan for mankind is that we should not die, but live forever in perfect happiness with Him. Therefore, the soul that He (and partly, our father and mother) instilled in us at our conception, does not die when our body dies, but lives on forever.
Purgatory, Heaven and Hell will not be explained here. But an important thing to know is that the soul is a real part of a living human being and is not annihilated nor obliterated when we die. This has important consequences for the ‘destination’ of the aborted baby’s soul. This is discussed in another section, on Baptism.
