Prayer and sacrifice are not only helpful, but are actually crucial, to the casting out of the demon of abortion and to the salvation of souls, as these quotes demonstrate:
From ‘The Healing of a Boy with a Spirit’ (Saint Mark 9:27–29, RSVCE): ‘But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.”‘ Full text of the Gospel account: Saint Mark 9:14–29 (RSVCE).
The Lord Jesus to Saint Maria Faustina [Kowalska] of the Most Blessed Sacrament, OLM; for the First Day of the Novena to the Divine Mercy (from her Diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul, 1210): ‘Today, bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.’
On 1917-08-19, in her fourth apparition to the three shepherd children, our Lady of Fátima again urged them: ‘Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to hell because there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them.’
